Welcome to my first blog. Other than updates on how the music is going I have no idea what it will be about, I just updated my site and it felt like I should start writing again, so here we are.
The big news in my music life is that I am ramping it up to as full time as I can get. I’m 70 now, so I am largely giving up the handyman work that has sustained me for much of my life, while my moving parts still have a little movement left.
I moved back to Sarasota, FL where I’ve lived for most of the last 15 years or so. My mother retired down there so I relocated to be near her. That eventually led to five years of fulltime caretaker and a move back to Louisiana, but that’s a blog for another day.
My booking calendar is open for business starting in February in Sarasota and surrounding areas. email me at booking@kidred.com.
I am in the final mixing stages before I release Judgment Day Blues, a Carolyn Wonderland song that I’ve always loved. It features Beth Paxton, who is the producer, on bass and Eddie Christmas on drums. Wayne Lohr does all the keys and I played rhythm guitar and got the amazing Cranston Clements on lead guitar. I hope we can wrap it up in the next month.
Also, if anybody in Sarasota or Bradenton has a room for rent let me know.
